    The Challenge

Patrick's poultry enterprise was limited by inadequate capital, restricting flock size and preventing investment in the infrastructure needed to reach new markets. Without a formal business plan, accessing financing from formal institutions was not possible.

    Main Challenges Faced

    • 1Insufficient capital to expand flock beyond 500 birds
    • 2Limited market reach — confined to Karatina and Nyeri town
    • 3No formal business plan to access institutional financing
    • 4Inadequate knowledge of loan documentation requirements

    RK-FINFA Support Provided

RK-FINFA provided access to a loan and conducted capacity building training including business plan preparation. With a bankable business plan in place, Patrick accessed the financing needed to purchase additional birds, expand infrastructure, and reach new markets.
